How to Choose the Right HVAC Contractor in Islamabad & Rawalpindi: 6 Things to Check

May 3, 2026 · 3 min read · Aircon Services

Choosing an HVAC contractor in Islamabad or Rawalpindi? Check these 6 critical things before signing any contract. Avoid costly mistakes with Aircon Services.

Finding a reliable HVAC contractor in Islamabad or Rawalpindi can feel overwhelming. There are dozens of companies offering air conditioning installation and maintenance services โ€” but the quality, reliability, and technical competence varies enormously. A poor contractor choice can result in a system that underperforms, consumes excessive electricity, fails prematurely, or becomes a safety hazard.

At Aircon Services, we have been operating in the Islamabad and Rawalpindi market since 2007. Based on what we see every day โ€” including fixing substandard installations carried out by unqualified contractors โ€” here are the six most important things to check before hiring any HVAC company.

1. PEC Registration

The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) is the regulatory body for engineering contractors in Pakistan. Any legitimate HVAC contractor executing projects above a certain value must be PEC registered. This ensures the company has qualified engineers on staff and has met minimum technical competency standards.

Always ask for the contractor’s PEC registration number and verify it on the PEC website. Aircon Services is PEC Registered in the CB (Contractor Builder) category.

2. ISO 9001 Certification

ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for quality management systems. A contractor with ISO certification has documented procedures for project management, quality control, and customer service. It provides assurance that their processes โ€” not just their intentions โ€” meet an internationally benchmarked standard.

3. Proven Track Record with Similar Projects

Ask for a list of completed projects similar to yours. If you are building a hotel, ask about hospitality HVAC projects. If it is a hospital, ask about healthcare installations. A contractor experienced with small residential installations may not have the skills or equipment to handle a large commercial project.

Aircon Services has completed 39 documented projects across government, defence, hospitality, healthcare, and commercial sectors โ€” including the Islamabad Marriott Hotel, UAE Embassy, PAF Base facilities, and the Serena Business Complex.

4. Qualified Engineers on Site โ€” Not Just Labour

Many smaller contractors in Pakistan use unskilled or semi-skilled labour with little technical supervision. A quality HVAC installation requires qualified HVAC engineers to oversee the work, particularly for system commissioning, refrigerant handling, and electrical connections.

Ask the contractor: how many qualified HVAC engineers do you employ? What are their qualifications? Aircon Services employs 5 qualified HVAC engineers and 2 electrical AC engineers as permanent staff.

5. Their Own Equipment and Workforce

Contractors who own their own plant and machinery โ€” duct fabrication machines, vacuum pumps, pressure testing equipment, CFM meters, digital gauges โ€” and employ permanent staff (rather than daily labour) consistently deliver better quality work. Subcontracting everything to unknown third parties is a major risk factor.

6. After-Sales Support and AMC Availability

Your relationship with your HVAC contractor should not end at handover. Will they be available for warranty repairs? Do they offer annual maintenance contracts? A contractor who disappears after commissioning is a serious problem when you need support during peak summer.

Request a Written Proposal

Any reputable HVAC contractor will provide a detailed written proposal covering scope of work, equipment specifications (brand, model, capacity), warranty terms, project timeline, and payment schedule. Never accept a verbal quote or a single-line invoice for an HVAC project.

Contact Aircon Services for a professional site survey and detailed proposal for your project in Islamabad or Rawalpindi.
